Hyrist, LLC ("Hyrist," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Platform at hyrist.com, including our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use the Platform.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account Registration Information:

  • Full name, email address, phone number, password (encrypted)
  • Company name (for Clients), business address, tax identification numbers
  • Payment information (processed through third-party providers)

Profile Information:

  • Professional experience, education, skills, portfolio, profile photo, resume/CV, references, availability

Transaction Information:

  • Project details, time tracking data, invoices, contract terms, communications between Clients and Talent

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, time and date of visits, referring/exit pages, click data. We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, analyze usage, and improve experience.

Location: General location from IP; precise location only if you grant permission.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

Authentication providers (e.g. Google, LinkedIn) may provide name, email, profile picture. Payment processors provide verification and transaction status. Background check providers (if applicable) may provide verification results.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account; process transactions and payments; facilitate connections between Clients and Talent; provide support; authenticate users and prevent fraud; enforce our Terms; comply with legal obligations
  • Analyze usage, develop new features, improve functionality, conduct research and analytics
  • Send transactional emails, respond to inquiries, send updates and marketing (with consent), conduct surveys
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse; protect rights and safety; investigate incidents; comply with law enforcement
  • Match Clients with Talent; recommend opportunities; personalize your experience

4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

With other users: Depending on your role, profile and transaction information may be visible to other users as needed for the Platform. Messages and project details are shared only between relevant parties.

Service providers: We share with payment processors (e.g. Stripe), authentication (e.g. Clerk), infrastructure (e.g. Supabase, Vercel), analytics, communication services, and background check providers as needed.

Business transfers: In a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred; we will provide notice before a different privacy policy applies.

Legal requirements: We may disclose when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect rights, property, or safety.

With your consent we may share for other purposes.

5. DATA RETENTION

We retain your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymize personal information within 90 days. Some information may be retained for legal or business purposes (e.g. transaction records for tax, fraud prevention, aggregated analytics). We may retain longer if required by law.

6. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

You have the right to access, correct, delete, and (where applicable) port your personal information. You can update your profile in account settings and request deletion via account settings or privacy@hyrist.com. You may opt out of marketing emails; some transactional emails are required. You can manage cookies in your browser.

Hyrist does not sell your personal information.

California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah residents have additional rights (e.g. right to know, delete, opt out of sale). To exercise rights, email privacy@hyrist.com with "Privacy Rights Request" and we will respond within applicable timeframes (typically 45 days).

EEA/UK/Switzerland (GDPR): You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, object, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We process data based on contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent. For GDPR inquiries: dpo@hyrist.com.

7. DATA SECURITY

We implement technical and organizational measures (encryption, secure auth, access controls, monitoring, employee training, vendor agreements). You are responsible for keeping your password secure and notifying us of unauthorized access. No system is impenetrable; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, Colombia, and other countries where our service providers operate. We use Standard Contractual Clauses and other lawful mechanisms for transfers from the EEA/UK/Switzerland.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Platform is not for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it. Contact privacy@hyrist.com if you believe we have information from a child.

10. COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use essential cookies (session, auth, security), analytics cookies, functionality cookies, and (with consent) marketing cookies. Third parties may set cookies for analytics and payment. You can control cookies via browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect functionality. Opt-out tools: Google Analytics opt-out, NAI, DAA.

11. DO NOT TRACK

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals; we limit tracking as described in this policy.

12. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

The Platform may link to third-party sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their policies.

13. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy, updating the Last Updated date, and (for material changes) email notification or re-acceptance. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
